Y Combinator. The Mecca for startups in America and the most famous accelerator in the world. The website is worth reading through comprehensively, it has lots of really good articles and links to useful tools and data.
N.B. the focus is on rapid growth, especially for B2C products, so won’t always apply to the UK medical sector.
NHS Innovation Accelerator. The NIA is an accelerator that sits within the NHS and has an insider’s knowledge of policy and practical changes. It sends out a quarterly Insights newsletter which should be read by anyone planning to sell to the NHS.
Octopus Ventures. This £1bn Venture Capital fund has an Insights Hub with articles on a range of useful topics, and an especially good booklet on international expansion.
Balderton. One of the largest Venture Capital and Private Equity funds in Europe. Detailed articles on a range of topics, with a particularly good one on Employee Share Option Plans.
Blue Ocean Strategy. A website from the authors of the famous Blue Ocean Strategy book, with lots of tools to use. Useful if you’re struggling with ideation, or need to break away from the competition.
Robert P. Mollen. This collection of articles from an experienced corporate lawyer and medical sector mentor provides an invaluable insight for any company thinking of raising money. A must-read before fundraising.
JamJar. A page of useful tips and some good infographics from a successful UK fund.
Passion Capital. Document templates from a large and active UK investor.
Seedsummit. Document templates from a group of investment funds and law firms, provided free for startups.
ACELR8. A European recruitment company that focuses on tech startups needing new employees. They have articles on employee equity and expanding abroad.
